Hysteroscopy Procedure in Maharashtra | Yashoda IVF

What is Hysteroscopy ?

Your uterus is the first home for your baby. For an embryo to successfully implant and grow, the inner lining of the uterine cavity must be perfectly smooth and healthy. Even minor structural abnormalities can act like an IUD, preventing implantation or causing early miscarriages.

Hysteroscopy involves gently inserting a hysteroscope an ultra thin, lighted telescope with a high-definition camera through the vagina and cervix directly into the uterus. No incisions are needed. It allows us to view the cavity on a large monitor in real-time, providing immediate, highly accurate diagnoses that standard ultrasounds might miss.

At Yashoda IVF, we perform both Diagnostic Hysteroscopy (to purely observe and evaluate) and Operative Hysteroscopy (to treat issues simultaneously during the same session).

Hysteroscopy is Highly Recommended For:

🩸 Investigating and removing Uterine Polyps or Submucosal Fibroids
🩹 Clearing intrauterine adhesions (Asherman’s Syndrome) or scar tissue
🩺 Diagnosing the cause of repeated, unexplained IVF implantation failures
💔 Evaluating the uterus after recurrent miscarriages
🔬 Correcting congenital uterine anomalies, such as a Uterine Septum
Routine evaluation to ensure a pristine environment before a final Embryo Transfer

What to Expect: The Hysteroscopy Process

At Yashoda IVF, your comfort and safety are our highest priorities. Hysteroscopy is a quick, minimally invasive day-care procedure.

01

Initial Consultation & Timing

We review your medical history to determine if a hysteroscopy is needed. The procedure is typically scheduled just after your menstrual period ends, when the uterine view is clearest.

🩺
02

Comfortable Preparation

You will be given light general anesthesia or sedation so you are completely asleep and feel absolutely no pain or discomfort during the procedure.

💉
03

High-Definition Examination

The ultra-thin hysteroscope is gently inserted through the cervix. We use a safe saline solution to slightly expand the uterus, allowing a perfect, high-definition view of the entire cavity.

🥚
04

Immediate Correction (If Needed)

If we spot polyps, fibroids, or scar tissue, we use microscopic surgical instruments passed through the hysteroscope to immediately and safely remove them saving you from a second surgery.

🔬
05

Rapid Recovery & Discharge

The entire procedure takes only 15 to 30 minutes. You will wake up comfortably in our recovery room and generally be able to go home within a few hours, resuming normal activities the next day.

FAQ

Hysteroscopy Questions, Answered Simply

Clear, reassuring answers about what to expect before, during, and after your hysteroscopy procedure at Yashoda IVF.

It's a process where an elongated, flexible tubelike device with attached light and camera (a hysteroscope) is carefully inserted into the vagina and cervix in the uterus. This allows them to directly visualize the uterine lining on the screen.
Doctors often recommend it to investigate issues like unusual uterine bleeding (heavy periods, bleeding between cycles), explore causes of infertility or repeated miscarriages, remove polyps or fibroids within the uterus, locate or remove a displaced IUD, or assess the uterine cavity before or after other gynecological surgeries.
Most women experience more discomfort than actual pain during a hysteroscopy. You might feel cramping or pressure, similar to menstrual cramps, as the uterus is gently expanded with fluid or gas for better viewing. Discuss unusual symptoms with your doctor for better guidance.
A hysteroscopy is usually quite an elaborate process which is usually completed within 5 to 15 minutes. If any procedure, such as removing a polyp, is performed at the same time, the overall duration might be longer.
It's common to experience mild cramping and minimal vaginal spotting for a day or two. You might also experience some gas-related discomfort if gas was used during the procedure. Your doctor will likely advise you to refrain from using tampons and engaging in sexual intercourse for a short period. Most individuals can resume their normal daily activities either on the same day or by the following day.
